International Council for Cultural Centers (I3C)

The World Culture Clubs Forum: Nurturing Voluntary Arts for Community (September 15-16, 2009, Seongnam Cultural Foundation, Seongnam, South Korea) included representatives of I3C, the UK Voluntary Arts Network, the European Network of Cultural Centers (ENCC), the US Mid-Atlantic Arts Alliance, UNESCO, etc. The main presenters of papers and recommendations agreed on developing, with the support of the Seongnam Cultural Foundation, an interactive global web tool that would enable and motivate community cultural centers around the world to share multimedia materials and get visibility, recognition, and a chance to develop joint trans-national programs. The growing number of voluntary arts groups and centers in Korea and Japan (through the Shizuoka Voluntary Arts Festival) became the first East Asian partner networks of the International Council for Cultural Centers.
